Cinderella Tales is a compilation of three of those tales: Egyptian
Cinderella, The Glass Slipper, and our Cinderlad tale Billy Beg & the Bull.

 

Egyptian Cinderella - It originated nearly 3,000 years ago and was recorded
by the Roman historian Strabo in the first century B.C. - A young Greek
woman is kidnapped by pirates and sold as a slave in Egypt.  Her manners and
background make her stand out, with the result that she is treated cruelly
by the other servants of the household.  Her only friends are the animals
that live along the Nile for whom she dances and sings each evening.  Her
master happens upon this one evening and has golden slippers made for her.
One day a hawk - the god Horus - steals a slipper and drops it into
Pharaoh's lap.  He searches the kingdom to find its owner, and when he finds
her, makes her his queen. 

 

The Glass Slipper - the European version of Cinderella.   A young girl,
through the magical intervention of her fairy god mother, escapes from her
step family to attend the Prince's Ball, but only until midnight. As she
flees the Ball she looses a glass slipper, the Prince finds it and uses its
unique size to find her again.

 

Billy Beg and the Bull - an Irish tale of a young prince, Billy Beg and his
pet, a magical bull.  His Step Mother threatens the Bull and together they
flee the kingdom.  After numerous adventures the Bull is killed in a
confrontation with another bull.  As he is dying he instructs Billy to take
his magic tail which Billy later uses to subdue an Ogre, which gives him a
pair of huge boots.  Later he defeats a dragon and saves a Princess, but
hearing his step-sister in the crowd, flees, leaving the Princess holding
one of his boots.  She searches all of Ireland to find him, and the boot
fits.
