*Theater Voices** presents its second production of the 2010-2011 season, *

*THE RAINMAKER by N. Richard Nash, directed by Eileen Schuyler*.

*Admission free performances will be given at Steamer No. 10 Theatre, 500
Western Avenue in Albany, *



*Friday, February 11 at 8:00 PM; *

*Saturday, February 12 at 3:00PM and 8:00 PM; *

*Sunday, February 13 at 3:00 PM. *



          This 1954 play, set in the American West of the Depression,
focuses on the Currie family: the father, his two sons, and their spinster
sister, Lizzie. The Curries worry more about Lizzie’s marriage prospects
than their own dying cattle until the arrival a confidence man named
Starbuck and his promises to bring rain unleash a series of events that
enable Lizzie to see herself in a new light.



         N. Richard Nash (1913-2000) was a novelist, screenwriter,
playwright, and librettist. THE RAINMAKER, his most celebrated work, was
filmed in 1956 starring Burt Lancaster and Katherine Hepburn. It was also
made into a hit musical, 11O IN THE SHADE.



         The director of this production is Eileen Schuyler. The cast
features Kathleen Carey, Kevin Craig West, David Bunce, David Girard,
Richard Lounello, Cornelius Geaney, and Chris Conant.
