The Highlight Acting Troupe will be presenting Arsenic and Old Lace by Joseph Kesselring and directed by Ron LeVan.
Arsenic and Old Lace is a comedy about the sweet old Brewster sisters (Lucy Breyer, Georgia  Visconti), who are beloved in their Brooklyn neighborhood for their many charitable acts. One charity which the ladies don't advertise is their ongoing effort to permit lonely bachelors to die with smiles on their faces--by serving said bachelors elderberry wine spiked with arsenic. When the sisters' drama-critic nephew Mortimer (A.J. Printsky) stumbles onto their secret, he is understandably put out--especially since he has just become engaged to Elaine Harper (Rebecca Hoffay). Given the homicidal tendencies of his aunts, the sinister activities of his escaped-convict older brother Jonathan (Mark Simpson) and the disruptive behavior of younger brother Teddy (Mark Strock)--who is convinced that he's really Theodore Roosevelt, and runs around the house yelling "CHAAAAARGGGE"- he is hesitant to marry Elaine.  Further complications ensue when the murderous
 Jonathan Brewster arrives home, with his snivelling accomplice Dr. Einstein (Alan Angelo) in tow. When Jonathan learns that his darling aunts have killed twelve men, he is incensed--they're challenging his own record of murders.
 
The show dates are Oct. 14, 15, 21, 22 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 16 and 23 and 2 p.m.  Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and students.  The performance will take place at the Brunswick Grange, Rt. 7 and Rt. 142 in Brunswick.  For reservations call Christine at 663-0007.
