Generations of Fun at Little Theater on the Farm on Wednesday, Sept 5th at
7pm. Al and Kathy Bain will perform as well as Arlin and Scott Greene for
an evening of great music
Al and Kathy Bain play traditional country, bluegrass and gospel music and
are known for their outstanding vocals and harmonies, with Kathy on upright
bass and Al playing a Travis-style guitar and 5-string banjo. They have
released many recordings since 1979, hosted well-known TV and radio shows
in Glens Falls, and won numerous awards from the Northeast Country Music
Association, including Song of the Year, Pioneer of the Year, Entertainers
of the Year, and Male and Female Vocalist. They have traveled extensively
to clubs, stage shows and festivals and been headliners throughout the
south, including the Merle Travis Thumbpicking Festival in Arkansas. The
Bains have been named Traditional Bearers for the NYS Council on the Arts,
Folk Arts, and were inducted into the New York State Country Music Hall of
Fame.
The Greene Brothers grew up listening to, and playing music with their
father, Smokey Greene, giving them deep roots in old time country and
bluegrass. But, you can also hear the influences of more modern music.
Performing an eclectic mix of country, bluegrass, blues, swing, pop, and
rock, with some originals thrown in for the fun of it, the Greene Brothers
are sure to please. From old to new, serious to funny, theses singers cover
it all with Scott Greene on acoustic guitar and Arlin Greene on bass.
Admission is $10, $8 for seniors and students. Refreshments and raffles
will be available. For more infop visit www.littletheater27.org or call
