[Capdist-announce] Premier Reception of the African American Cultural Center

Albany, NY, December 3, 2012 - The *African American Cultural Center of the
Capital Region* will have its official Ribbon Cutting and Press Conference
at 135 South Pearl Street at 11.00a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. This
event will precursor its premier reception and Charter Membership Campaign
launch at Albany’s historic Palace Theater 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Both
events are free and open to the public.



“The excitement and enthusiasm towards AACCCR is unbelievable,” said Nell
Stokes-Holmes, Interim Executive Director,” I am encouraged by how the
community is embracing the effort with so much support and well wishes.”



This historic day will serve as the kick-off for a five month charter
membership campaign where efforts will be made to get interested members of
the Capital Region to join at whatever level they can afford.   The Capital
Region’s dignitaries will be attending the event and there will be AACCCR
Board Members available to greet the public.  A reception will immediately
follow the press conference.  The evening's festivities will include scenes
from the TANYS award winning production of "A Raisin in the Sun", Jazz
vocalist Annette Harris, and keyboardist Aazzam Hameed.
