THE SANTALAND DIARIES Returns to the Stage

at Home Made Theater 

 

By popular demand, Home Made Theater presents a return engagement of David
Sedaris' merrily subversive holiday comedy THE SANTALAND DIARIES. Three
performances are scheduled for December 13 & 16 at 7:00 P.M. and December 15
at 8:00 P.M. at the Spa Little Theater in Saratoga Spa State Park.

Adapted by Joe Mantello and directed by Adam Fitzgerald, THE SANTALAND
DIARIES explores one man's experience as a struggling young actor/writer in
New York City when he takes a job as an elf in Santaland at Macy's. The
pains of elf training, the horrors of obnoxious customers, and the habits of
the various Santas depict Sedaris' true and humorous account of the time he
spent working as a Macy's Yuletide elf. SANTALAND is not recommended for
children. 

THE SANTALAND DIARIES features Jonathan Whitton as Crumpet the Elf.  Whitton
is the recipient of both the BackStage Bistro and Manhattan Association of
Cabarets & Clubs (MAC) Award for his concert work and has played standing
room only engagements in such NYC venues as Joe's Pub, 54 Below, Birdland,
The Laurie Beechman Theatre, and Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall.  He has
been seen onstage at Home Made Theater in SANTALAND DIARIES, CABARET, and
PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE. His HMT directing credits include productions of
A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE and SOMETHING'S AFOOT.
