Against the backdrop of 18th century France, Joseph T. Travers' world premiere trilogy follows several episodes of the life of M. Bayard, a young soldier in the French army, as he attempts to traverse a society endlessly wrapped up in proper etiquette and decorum. He discovers, however, that even good manners are no match for hotheaded passions and lusty intentions that lurk beneath the surface of the Age of Enlightenment . . .   and that there are those who will stop at nothing to protect their honor, and that passion and cunning often trump the rules of engagement.

The University at Albany Department of Theatre, Theatre Alumni Affinity Group, Theatre Council, and the UAlbany Alumni Association present Short Plays & Skirmishes, three short one-act plays written by Joseph Travers '82.  The Proxy, Within These Garden Walls, and Sanctuary will be presented as partially staged readings directed by David Lane, with fight sequences staged by Joseph Travers.

Short Plays & Skirmishes will be performed on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 7:00pm and Saturday, February, 11, 2012 at 1:00pm in the Performing Arts Center Studio Theatre.   Tickets are $5.00 at the door and will help fund Theatre Alumni Affinity Group activities.
