Top Hats & Tap Shoes at National Museum of Dance

Introduce your kids to the world of Vaudeville and tap! On July 25, bring
your children to the National Museum of Dance for an event geared to get
them moving and exploring the possibilities of rhythm. This program will be
centered on the book Song and Dance Man, written by Karen Ackerman. The
children in the story and their grandfather bring to life what it was like
to be an entertainer in the good ol¹ days! After reading the book aloud,
children ages 3 to 6 will also get to explore the worlds of tap, rhythm and
costume!

This event will take place from 10:00 to 11:30am with activities available
for everyone. Children will have the chance to color scenes from the book,
dance along with a video of Vaudeville tap legends, try on costumes and put
on their very own performance in our Alfred Z. Solomon Children¹s Wing!

This is a free event. RSVPs are appreciated by emailing sue at dancemuseum.org
<mailto:sue at dancemuseum.org> or calling 518.584.2225 x3009.
