National Museum of Dance hosts National Dance Day Celebration

On Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 2:00pm the National Museum of Dance will be
³putting on the groove² in honor of the annual National Dance Day. This year
the National Museum of Dance has partnered with their own School of the
Arts, the Saratoga Regional YMCAs, Total Body Trifecta, and Orlando School
of Dance in Schenectady, NY.

Join us young and old, move at your own speed, at our 2-hour dance-a-thon
with a variety of aerobic dance, Zumba, and hip-hop. A fierce performance by
Ricardo Sopin and Iraida Volodina, instructors at Arthur Murray Studios in
Saratoga Springs who appeared on Dancing with the Stars.

National Dance Day is a national event recognized by the U.S. Congress and a
grassroots movement to encourage the nation to MOVE! Individuals, families,
organizations, and communities from across the nation come together through
creative expression in any style of dance or movement.

We celebrate this to promote health and wellness nationwide, to continue to
generate national awareness for dance, to bring people together from all
walks of life.

Admission to the celebration is $6.00 for adults, $4.50 for students and
seniors, and free for children under the age of 12.

National Dance Day is also a fundraiser for the Dizzy Feet Foundation. This
foundation, which offers dance scholarships and offers community based dance
programs for children in low income areas, was founded by Nigel Lythgoe, So
You Think You Can Dance judge & choreographer Adam Shankman, Dancing with
the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba, and actress Katie Holmes to support,
improve, and increase access to dance education in the United States. A
portion of the proceeds raised at the museum¹s celebration will be donated
to The Dizzy Feet Foundation
