                       "LES LIAISONS DANGEREUSES" OPENS NEXT FRIDAY, MARCH 16 
 

SCHENECTADY - Les Liaisons Dangereuses, by Christopher Hampton (based on the 1782 novel by Choderlos de Laclos, opens Friday, March 16, and runs through Sunday, March 25, at Schenectady Civic Players' 12 South Church Street playhouse in Schenectady's historic Stockade district.  The production is directed by Richard Michael Roe.

The fourth main-stage production of Schenectady Civic's 84th season, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, is a searing story of sexual deceit and betrayal set in the glittering world of Parisian aristocracy where former lovers, the Marquise de Marteuil and the Vicomte de Valmont, lay a bet, to see who can pull off the greater act of seduction.  Reputations are put at risk and lives destroyed, as neither of these amoral aristocrats is concerned with the consequences of their cynical game - until, that is, love gets in the way.    

Making up the ensemble cast of veteran Schenectady Civic Players and Capital District performers are: Erin Waterhouse (as the Marquise), Ian LaChance (as Valmont), Stephanie Insogna (as Madame de Tourvel), Dana Goodknight (as Cecile), Melissa Lacijan (as Madame Volanges), Conrad Browne Lorcher (as Danceny), Pat Brady (as Madame Rosemunde), Emer Geraghty (as Emilie), Dave Cerutti (as Azolan), and Cindy Welch (as Louise). 

 

Les Liaisons Dangereuses  plays Friday, Saturday and Sunday (March 16, 17, 18) and Wednesday through Sunday (March 21 - 25).  Wednesday and Thursday curtains are at 7:30 pm; Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm; and Sundays are matinees only at 2:30 pm.  Tickets, $15.  More info call 382-2081.
