Home Made Theater’s Youth Conservatory

Program Presents Guys & Dolls, Jr.

The Youth Conservatory Program at Home Made Theater will present GUYS &
DOLLS JR at the Spa Little Theater on Friday, May 18th at 7:30 pm, and
Saturday, May 19th at 1:00 and 4:30pm. This production is presented by a
cast of children and teens between the ages of 8 and 18. Set in Damon
Runyon's mythical New York City, GUYS & DOLLS JR. introduces us to colorful
characters who have become legends in the musical theatre canon: Sarah
Brown, the upright but uptight "mission doll;" Sky Masterson, the slick,
high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love;
Adelaide, a nightclub performer whose chronic flu is brought on by the fact
she's been engaged to the same man for 14 years; and Nathan Detroit, her
devoted fiancé, desperate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating
dice game.

GUYS & DOLLS JR is directed by Laurie Larson, who has previously directed
the Youth Conservatory Productions of Annie Jr., Thoroughly Modern Millie
Jr., Beauty and the Beast Jr., Fiddler on the Roof Jr., Seussical Jr.,
Aladdin Jr., and Home Made Theater’s main stage productions of The Lion, the
Witch and the Wardrobe, and Charlotte’s Web. She has a vocal performance
degree and a minor in theater and dance from Ithaca College, and education
degree from SUNY Potsdam, and a master’s degree in theater from SUNY Albany.
She is active in community theater and professional theaters as a performer
and choreographer. In addition to HMT, Laurie has worked with local
theaters such as Schenectady Light Opera, Albany Civic and Park Playhouse.
She is also the theater teacher and choral director at Ballston Spa High
School.

The book for GUYS & DOLLS JR. was written by Abe Burrows & Jo Swerling, with
music and lyrics by Frank Loesser. Production staff for the HMT Youth
Conservatory production includes scenic designers Mary Fran Hughes and Kevin
Miller, lighting designer Kevin Miller, Sound designer Barry Streifert,
properties designer Byron Turner, costume designer Linda Bertrand, and
production stage manager Susan Turner.

Tickets for GUYS & DOLLS JR. are $10 for adults and $5 for children age 12
and under. Seating is general admission. Tickets may be purchased online
at <http://www.homemadethater.org/> www.homemadetheater.org or by calling
518-587-4427. The box office at the theater will be open on Wednesday, May
16.
