The Second Annual Autumn Harvest PowWow will be held Saturday, Sept.
15thfrom 10:00 am to 10:00 pm and Sunday, Sept 16
th from 10:00 am to 5 pm. at Little Theater on the Farm, 27 Plum Road, Fort
Edward, NY, primarly sponsored by the NYSCA through LARAC.

This year the northern drum will be Medicine Horse Drum from Pennsylvania.
The Onyota aka Oneida Dance Troupe will demonstrate the traditional eastern
dances. The Laughing Couple Interactive Storytellers will present the
legends and their artistic talents in the theater each day.  There will be
dance competitions and the general public is invited to dance during the
General PowWow.  Stewarts Shops has provided funding for the children’s
crafts tents which will include a face painter as well as native American
crafts. Numerous vendors. including food,  and educational exhibits will be
available. Blanket raffle, 50/50 raffle, and PowWow shirts available.

The mission of the Autumn Harvest PowWow “is to present an annual,
inter-tribal PowWow which will be a cultural and educational experience for
all peoples through indigenous music, dance, crafts, and storytelling in
order to perpetuate the heritage of Native Americans”.  Families are
encouraged to bring their children and help them see first hand the culture
and history of our area.

The Living History 1750’s Encampment will be open to the public with over
30 re-enactors set up to demonstrate life in the encampment.  They will
 provide information on the relationship between the Native Americans and
the soldiers during the French and Indian War.

This event is free to the public, donations appreciated.
