A smash on Broadway and London's West End, this classic comedy from the author of Private Lives and Hay Fever is the story of the cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine, who is re-married but haunted (literally) by the ghost of his late first wife. When a "happy medium" conjures the late wife's spirit, all the personalities - from here and beyond - clash with unexpected and hilarious results.

This first main-stage production of Schenectady Civic's 85th season, Blithe Spirit, is Noel Coward at his very best. It was 66 years ago when Schenectady Civic Players first produced Blithe Spirit. It was brought to Schenectady Civic Players' stage again in 1971, and now for the third time SCP presents the charming and funny classic. Written and produced during the early years of World War II, Blithe Spirit has become one of Coward's most enduring and highly successful works.

Making up the cast of veteran Schenectady Civic Players and Capital District performers are Jean T. Carney (as Ruth), Kathleen Engelhardt (Madame Arccati), Ken Goldfarb (Dr. Bradman), Robert L. Hegeman (Charles Condomine), Susan Katz (Mrs. Bradman), Cristine Loffredo (Elvira), and Rita Machin (Edith).
