Feel like helping in the creation of a new play? Come join Capital District Playwright's Workshop in a reading of the first draft of BLUE SMOKE, a new play by Sunny da Silva. Set in Southern Georgia in 1922, it follows the life of a Creek Indian woman, Eula, who creates and sings "Blue Music", and her two illegitimate sons - as she tries to exist under the radar in the scrub by making and selling moonshine, hand rolled cigarettes, and herself.

This will be the first full public reading by the workshop, which hopes to involve the community in assisting the playwright with the creation of a new play. After all, what is a play without an audience?

Join us at The Center for Independent living at 15 3rd street in downtown Troy at 6:30 for some refreshment, and 7pm for the reading. Talkback moderated by Dramaturge and Playwright, Josh Sperber directly following. Warning... The play has adult content.

Seats on a first come, first serve basis. Come PLAY with us!
