part  of 
The Yes You Can!! Series 
presented  by 
The Schenectady Theater for  Children 

Learn  to write a musical theater song  
with  award-winning playwright/composer/lyricist Kit  Goldstein Grant and  
outstanding  music-educator/pianist Rebecca  Benjamin.  
Learn  the basics of lyric writing, song form, and what goes into making a 
memorable  melody.  
Together,  the group will come up with an original story and write the 
songs to go with  it! 
For ages 8 to 16 
Date: January 26,  2013 
Workshop: 9:00 am til 2:00  pm 
**Students will need to bring their own lunch,  notebook and pencil 
Performance: 2:00  pm 
**Workshop and performance will take place  in the STC Studio at the 
Rotterdam Square  Mall…. 
next door to the Sears concourse  entrance. 
Cost: $40.00 per  student
