FRIDAY 8/22Snacks, Spolin Improv Games, and Story Theatre 6:00PM - 9:00PM

Grab some snacks, play some improv games, and learn about story theatre
from Spolin improvist Tom Brennan. Perfect for new actors, or experienced
actors looking to pick up some new tricks!

Lighting Basics 6:00PM - 7:00PM

Have you always wanted to get involved with lighting, or get a little more
familiar with the board? Join Q Award Winner Robert Healey for a tour of
the sound effect and show control software used by the RPI Players, and at
least two other area theaters. Will cover multi-part cues, multi-channel
cues, panning audio around the room, image/video cues, and cues that
control external devices.

Programming Intelligent Lights 7:30PM - 8:30PM

After learning the basics, get an advanced class from Robert Healey in how
programming smart lights differs from your standard theatrical lights. Tips
and tricks for making them work with assorted lighting consoles, and how to
avoid awkward unwanted effects. Includes demos of some of the more high end
lights found at the Playhouse, and in other capital district theatres.

SATURDAY 8/23Exploring Character through Dialogue - Sides from Film &
Television 12:00PM - 2:00PM

Want some acting practice that involves your favorite TV shows and films?
Local actor Simon Ellis has got you covered. Run through some cold readings
taken from the big screen in this a laid back acting exercise, perfect to
start off the day!

Hair and Make-up Presents: Blood FX! 12:00PM - 2:00PM

The RPI Players is putting on Dracula this Fall, and that means blood...
lots of blood. Have you always wanted to make gunshot wounds, stab wounds,
and any other wounds under the sun? Then prepare for an onslaught of latex,
fake blood, and some advanced make-up techniques from make-up gurus
Michelle Zeliph and Emily Kosmaczewski.

The independent film movement in the capital district is booming, and
learning how to act in front of the camera is an invaluable skill. Join Tom
Brennan and a local director, play some more Spolin improv games, and
