TROY CIVIC THEATRE'S 3RD SEASON BEGINS NEXT WEEK WITH AREA PREMIERE
OF "W;T"

Troy's community theatre company's (TCT) third season of staged
productions brings Margaret Edson's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama,
"W;T," to the Black Box Theatre at the Rensselaer County Council on
the Arts beginning next Friday night, January 17.

W;t is the story of a renowned professor of English who has spent her
life studing and teaching the poems of John Donne and now finds
herself undergoing ann aggressive treatment of ovarian cancer, and at
the same time, a dramatic personal transformation.

The play, directed by Barbara Davis-Dickman in her debut with Troy
Civic Theatre Company, will be presented at 8 pm on
Januarye17th.18th, 24th and 25th, with a final matinee on Sunday, the
26th at 2 pm.

Davis-Dickman chose the play because "it's about our need, as human
beings, for human contact, for reassurance, support, companionship and
love from others even if we don't think we really need such
"crutches," she said.

"This play speaks to all of us," she said. As the main character
transforms from an unapproachable professor to an object of study, the
play captures the "universal need all of us have for simple human
kindness to give it as well as to receive it."

The cast stars Katherine Ambrosio as Dr. Vivian Bearing, and features
(in alphabetical order) Anton Asylgareyev, Kimberely Bassett, Lucy
Breyer, Sylvie Browne, Katie Hughes, Mark Kittel and Brian McBride
Land.

Produced by TCT's Managing Artistic Director Michael J. Ciaravella,
assistant director Erin Harwood and stage managed by Carmen Martin,
