 GHENT PLAYHOUSE ANNOUNCES THEIR 40th SEASON — 2014-2015
 The Ghent Playhouse is entering their 40th year of operation.  Cathy Lee-Visscher the organization’s Artistic Director announces the following selection of plays and directors for the 2014-2015 season.
October 10 – 26.  2014  FALLEN ANGELS – Written by Noel Coward  Directed by Kate Gulliver   
A comedy of manners among the “upper crust” society in early 20th Century England, the play tells the story of Julia and Jane, married to Fred and Willy, who find themselves concerned that secrets from each of their pasts may be revealed, when a former French lover of the two shows up while their spouses are away on a golf outing.
 
November 28  - December 14, 2014    ALI BABA AND THE FOUR TEA THIEVES      Written by Judy Staber  Directed by Tom Detwiler           
A spoof of the 2001 Nights Tale, it is full of parody, comedy, schtick, broad humor, great songs and crazy costumes. This is the fifteenth production by Columbia County’s own PantoLoons
 
January 23  - February 8, 2015  HEROES – Written by Gerald Sibleyras, translated by Tom Stoppard                            Directed by Cathy Lee-Visscher           
Tom Stoppard’s translation of the French comedy, Le Vent des Pupliers .   It’s 1959 and Philippe, Gustave and Henri, three veterans from WWI, keep each other company on the back terrace of a French retirement home for soldiers.
 
March 13 – 29,  2015  THE TRIUMPH OF LOVE – Book by James Magruder, Music by Jeffrey Stock,  Lyrics by Susan Birkenhead    Directed by Tom Detwiler                                   
Based on the 18th Century comedy by Pierre Marivaux, the story tells of the trials and tribulations of a young Greek princess as she attempts to win the love of an exiled prince and heir to the kingdom taken over by her family.  
 
May 22 - June  7, 2015 RABBIT HOLE            By David Lindsay-Abaire  (winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama) Directed by John Trainor                       
This searing drama deals with the ways family members survive a major loss, it does include comedy as well as drama.  The play won several Tony awards in 2006.

Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m..  Tickets are $20 general admission; $17 for Friends of the Playhouse and $10 for Students with proper ID.
