NACRE DANCE ANNOUNCES UPCOMING 2015 EVENTS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Nacre Dance, the area's premiere modern dance company, is pleased to announce its upcoming 2015 slate of events, including their flagship performance, ​Nacre Dance in Concert at the Spa Little Theater, March 7th and 8th.

After the unprecedented success earlier this season of their ​So You Think You Can Choreograph!? ​competition performance, and offering a rare look at Weidman’s ​Christmas Oratorio​,​featuring live performances by the Hubbard Hall Opera Theater, Nacre is ready to embark on the second half of this historic season.

In addition to the annual March performance, Nacre continues its mission of bringing classical modern dance to the Capital Region community. They are hosting their free Sunday Series at Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga on February 15th at 3pm to watch Nacre dancers in rehearsal and talk with Artistic Director, Beth Fecteau, to learn more about what is behind the dance. In addition, for the first time this year Nacre will be offering a Modern Dance Summer Camp for youth 13 and up the week of July 27th and August 3rd.

“It’s been an incredible year so far,” says Artistic Director and Nacre Founder Beth Fecteau. “We are directing our energy on finding new ways to bring Dance to the community beyond our traditional concert setting.”

Nacre Dance In Concert​at The Spa Little Theater on March 7th at 7:30pm and March 8th at 2:30pm will celebrate Nacre's seventh season of dance! Nacre will present modern dance classics beginning with Isadora Duncan's 1910 "Bacchanal", Doris Humphrey's 1928 "Air for the G­String", excerpts from Jose Limon's "Choreographic Offerings" and traveling to "Rooms Etude" based on the work of Anna Sokolow.

In addition, this concert will premiere the work from the winning choreographer's from Nacre's "So, You Think You Can Choreograph?" Diane Lachtrupp and Jessie Sector.  Tickets are 15.00/students and seniors; 20.00 general admission.
