/" . . .The lively production at the Schenectady Civic Players somehow
makes you feel you weren't wrong to leave the house you've holed up in
during this miserable winter . . . Director Gary M. Hoffmann has this
first-rate cast moving at a good clip and speaking with convincing
Southern accents . . . it's like a sit-down with the characters on TV's
"Mama's Family" . . . And (Katherine) Stephens practically steals the
show in a hilarious scene with (Michael) Silvia in Act II . . . a
stunning set by Robert L. Hegeman . . . something I've known for some
time: there's a good reason SCP is now celebrating its 87th season."

DADDY’S DYIN’, Who’s Got the Will?
Directed by Gary Hoffmann
March 20, 21, 22 and 25 thru 29
/(FRIDAYS & SATURDAYS at 8 pm; WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY at 7:30 pm; SUNDAY
matinees at 2:30 pm)/
Set in a small Texas town in anytime, U.S.A., Daddy’s Dyin’ concerns the
reunion of a family gathered to await the imminent death of their
patriarch, who has recently suffered a physically as well as mentally
disabling stroke. In essence, however, it is not the story of the
impending demise of the father or of the drafting of his will, but of a
rebirth of the spirit of the family unit.
The story shares many elements of a good summer novel: fast, delicious,
easy viewing with funny moments, tense moments, touching moments, and
characters you care about.-The Hollywood Reporter
