HMT’s Youth Conservatory Presents LEGALLY BLONDE, JR.

 

The Youth Theater Conservatory Program at Home Made Theater will present
Legally Blonde, Jr, music & lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin,
book by Heather Hach, based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture. Performances will be held at the Spa
Little Theater on Friday, May 15th at 7:30 pm, and Saturday, May 16th at
1:00 and 4:30pm. This production is presented by a cast of students between
the ages of 8 and 18. When Elle’s high school boyfriend Warner dumps her and
heads to Harvard, claiming she's not "serious" enough, Elle takes matters
into her own hands, crafting a showy song-and-dance personal essay and
charming her way into law school. Befriending classmate Emmett and spunky
hairdresser Paulette along the way, Elle finds that books and looks aren't
mutually exclusive - in fact, law may be her natural calling after all, as
she quickly begins outsmarting her peers.

Legally Blonde, Jr is co-directed by Laurie Larson and Olivia Larson, who
have previously worked together on the Youth Theater Conservatory
Productions of Fame Jr and The Little Mermaid Jr. Laurie has also directed
Guys and Dolls Jr, Annie Jr, Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr, Beauty and the
Beast Jr, Fiddler on the Roof Jr, Seussical Jr, Aladdin Jr, and HMT’s main
stage productions of 9 to 5: The Musical, The Lion, the Witch and the
Wardrobe, and Charlotte’s Web.

Production staff for the production includes musical director Laurie Larson,
choreographer Olivia Larson, scenic and lighting designer Kevin Miller,
sound designer Barry Streifert, costume designer Sherry Recinella,
properties designer Laurie Larson, and production stage manager Susan
Turner.

Tickets for Legally Blonde, Jr are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages
12 and under. Seating is general admission. Tickets may be purchased online
