[Capdist-announce] THE GHENT PLAYHOUSE PRESENTS THE FINAL PRODUCTION OF THE 2014 -2015 SEASON, “RABBIT HOLE”

The Ghent Playhouse is pleased to announce its production of David
Lindsay-Abaire’s Pulitzer Prize winning play, *Rabbit Hole*.  The play will
open on Friday, May 22 and run through Sunday, June 7 with performances
Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2 pm.



*Rabbit Hole*, a drama infused with moments of humor and glimpses of hope,
charts the Corbett’s bittersweet search for comfort following a family
tragedy and a path that will lead them back to finding one another and into
the light of day.



Tamara Gardner of Lee, Massachusetts is a newcomer to the Ghent stage and
takes on the role of Becca Corbett, half of a couple whose perfect world is
suddenly turned upside down after a life-shattering accident leaves the two
drifting perilously apart.  Tamara made her acting debut last year in Town
Players of Pittsfield’s production of *Months on End *and soon after was
cast in Mill City’s production of *Cinderella Goes Disco*.



Jonathan Slocum of Pittsfield, Massachusetts plays her husband, Howie
Corbett, a man struggling to find a way to move on after tragedy.  Jonathan
has appeared on the Playhouse stage previously in *Enchanted April* and *The
Heiress*.  Jonathan has produced and directed for Town Players of
Pittsfield and has performed in over a dozen productions in the past decade.



Hana Kenny is cast as Becca’s pregnant and free-spirited sister, Izzy.  Hana
is an actor, singer and artist from Great Barrington, Massachusetts.   This
is her first time at the Ghent Playhouse, but Hana is active with Homespun
Theatre Company in Great Barrington and Pittsfield Shakespeare in the Park.



Lael Locke of Chatham, New York is Nat, Becca and Izzy’s mother, a strong
woman already surviving loss when this tragedy occurred. This is the third
mother that Lael has played in her 12 appearances on the Ghent stage
including roles in  *Equus*, *The Countess* and *The Mad Woman of Chaillot*.
Lael has been active with the Town Players of Pittsfield, the MacHaydn
Theatre, The Berkshire Playhouse and others.



The role of Jason, the young man involved in the accident that changed the
lives of our characters forever is being played by Thomas Reilly of
Pittsfield, Massachusetts.  A 17 year old in the wrong place at the wrong
time who will spend his life dealing with the gravity of that one moment.



John Trainor of New Lebanon, New York, who was last seen in GPH’s 2015
production of *Heroes,* steps off the Ghent stage and into the Director’s
chair for this production.  His previous directorial credits at the
Playhouse include *Crimes of the Heart*, *Man of La Mancha, The Road to
Mecca*, *The Good Doctor*, *Proof*, and *Dancing at Lughnasa*.



This production is being produced by GPH Board President Nancy Hammell.  The
set is designed by GPH Artistic Director Cathy Lee-Visscher.  Lighting
design is by John Collins and sound design by Monk Shane-Lydon.  Joanne
Maurer is the costume designer.



The Ghent Playhouse is located at 6 Town Hall Place – just off Route 66 in
the Town of Ghent in Columbia County, New York.  Tickets are $20 each, $17
for Friends of the Playhouse and $10 for Students with ID.  Tickets may be
