HMT's Youth Conservatory Presents INTO THE WOODS JR.

 

The Youth Musical Theater Conservatory Program at Home Made Theater will
present Into the Woods Jr, book by James Lapine, music and lyrics by Stephen
Sondheim, based on classic fairy tales. Performances will be held at the Spa
Little Theater on Friday, May 13th at 7:30 pm, and Saturday, May 14th at
1:00 and 4:30pm. This production is presented by a cast of students between
the ages of 8 and 18. Be careful what you wish for as this cockeyed
fairytale comes to life in this adaptation of the groundbreaking, Tony
Award-winning musical featuring all of your favorite classic Brothers Grimm
characters. It centers on a baker and his wife who wish to have a child;
Cinderella, who wishes to attend the king's festival; and Jack, who wishes
his cow would give milk. In the end, their journey will leave them changed
forever.

Into the Woods Jr is co-directed by Laurie Larson and Olivia Larson, who
have previously worked together on the Youth Musical Theater Conservatory
productions of Legally Blonde Jr, Fame Jr and The Little Mermaid Jr. Laurie
has also directed Guys and Dolls Jr, Annie Jr, Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr,
Beauty and the Beast Jr, Fiddler on the Roof Jr, Seussical Jr, Aladdin Jr,
and HMT's main stage productions of Miracle on 34th Street, 9 to 5: The
Musical, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and Charlotte's Web.

Production staff for the production includes directors Laurie Larson and
Olivia Larson, scenic and lighting designer Kevin Miller, sound designer
Barry Streifert, costume designer Laurie Larson, properties designer Wende
Smith, and production stage manager Susan Turner.

Tickets for Into the Woods Jr are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 12
and under. Seating is general admission. Tickets may be purchased online at
