On Sunday, May 29 at 2pm, Town Players of Pittsfield presents three short staged readings at the Whitney Center for the Arts, 42 Wendell Avenue in Pittsfield.

"Antigone" written and read by Richard Matturro, is part of his collection, "Porch of the Maidens". When civil law, family loyalty, and religion are thrown into conflict within the mind of an intelligent young woman, what will she do?

"The Seven Deadlies" by Amy Sarah LaMena and directed by Thomas Suski, is a devilishly funny short play that will make the world seem nonsensical and out of our control. The main characters of PRIDE, WRATH, GREED, ENVY, LUST, GLUTTONY and SLOTH are meeting for their quincentennial board meeting to lavishly flaunt their accomplishments of tarnishing human civilization as well as interviewing potential candidates to join their conspired group. Can POOR PERSONAL HYGIENE, PASSIVE AGGRESSION, SELF-ABSORPTION and FEAR make the cut? Cast in this reading are Ann Krawet, Kevin Paul Wixsom, Jerry Greene, Leah Marie Parker, Denise Roller, Jennifer Gorson, Sheila Wood and Matt Barbas

In "Double D" by Jim Dalglish, also directed by Thomas Suski, Mary is on her way to her step-sister’s engagement party, when she has a shoe emergency. Where the hell will she be able to find a pair of 12 Double E pumps at this time of night? The cast includes Dana Grieb and Leonard Yon.

Admission is $5. One play contains strong language and may not be suitable for children.
