*DECEMBER 2 AT SCHENECTADY CIVIC PLAYERS*



* SCHENECTADY -- Noel Coward’s Star Quality, adapted by Christopher
Luscombe and directed by Donald Mealy, opens Friday, December 2, and runs
through Sunday, December 11, at Schenectady Civic Players, 12 South Church
Street in Schenectady’s historic Stockade district.  *



*            In his final comedy, Noel Coward takes us behind the scenes of
a new West End production.  Conjuring  up a backstage world of talent and
treachery  he creates a gallery of characters including a temperamental
leading lady, a ruthless director, jaded old troupers and, caught in the
middle, an innocent young playwright.  From first rehearsal to opening
night, Star Quality becomes increasingly heart-wrenching….and hilarious.
London Sunday Times called it an “enchanting comedy, a tough, elegant and
hilarious look at backstage life.” *



*            The Civic Players cast features Jean T. Carney (as Lorraine
Barrie), Pat Hoffman (as Marion Blake),  Debbie May (as Nora Mitchell),
Robert L. Hegeman (as Gerald Wentworth), Jason Biszick (as Ray Malcolm),
Mark Stephens (as Tony Orford), and Evan Jones (as Bryan Snow).*




*            Star Quality runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday (December 2, 3,
4) and Wednesday through Sunday (December 7 through 11).  Wednesday and
Thursday curtains are at 7:30 pm; Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm; and
Sundays are matinees only at 2:30 pm.  *
