The Mop & Bucket Co. Headline Opening Night at New Theatre
Schenectady’s Arts District Expands as the Mopco Improv Theatre Opens its Doors

SCHENECTADY,
 N.Y.
 (10‐22‐16)
‐‐
The Mopco Improv Theatre celebrates its opening with an evening of fast-paced, interactive entertainment, courtesy of the Capital Region's premier improv troupe, The Mop & Bucket Company.

After nine years as resident improv company at Proctors, The Mop & Bucket Improv Company moves to their new home on 10 N. Jay Street in Schenectady. The historic firehouse in the heart of Little Italy underwent a complete renovation over the summer. Now a 70-seat theatre with a cafe and a multipurpose corporate office space, The Mopco will offer an expanded roster of standard and new programing, including new show formats, adult and youth classes, special events, and guest performers.

The Mopco Improv Theatre’s opening night performance will showcase two time winner of the Times Union Best of the Capital Region “best local comedian or comedy troupe,” The Mop & Bucket Company. With nothing more than a suggested word or line of dialogue, performers will create scenes, songs, stories, and plays on-the-spot, collaboratively, with no script or pre-planning.

“Each show is a one-of-a-kind event co-created with the audience,” stated artistic director Michael Burns.

Doors open at 7:30pm on Saturday October 22, 2016, and the show begins at 8:00pm. Light refreshments will be available.

For more information on upcoming shows, available classes, and the opening night, please contact Michael Burns, or visit the Mopco website: www.mopco.org.
