*HUBBARD HALL PRODUCES THE BROADWAY SMASH*

*THE GLASS MENAGERIE *

(Cambridge, NY April 19, 2017) Hubbard Hall is thrilled to be producing
Tennessee Williams’ classic Broadway hit *The Glass Menagerie* for the
first time in its almost 40 year history. Opening Saturday, April 22 on
Hubbard Hall’s mainstage, this American classic tells the tale of Tom, his
sister Laura, their mother Amanda, and the Gentleman Caller. A meditation
on how the past can haunt our present, this American classic made
playwright Tennessee Williams famous and is perhaps his most personal work
– giving us a window into his love for his real life sister Rose. Filled
with laughter, love, and longing, *The Glass Menagerie* is a great play
about family, forgiveness, and our desire to let go of the past.

Roger Danforth, recent Artistic Director of the Drama League of New York,
directs a powerful cast including David Snider (last seen as John Proctor
in the Hall’s production of *The Crucible*), Grace Sgambettera, recent
Skidmore College graduate and Saratoga Shakespeare actor Woodrow Proctor,
and Cambridge’s very own Christine Decker as Amanda.

“I’m thrilled to be producing and appearing in *The Glass Menagerie* with
Christine Decker and this amazing company of actors,” says Executive &
Artistic Director David Snider. “It’s actually a very fun, funny play about
family. It’s been a joy to work on and I know audiences are going to be
blown away by Roger’s work on this. I’ve known Roger for over sixteen years
and this play was the perfect opportunity to have him join us at the Hall.”

“It's a real pleasure to be directing a masterwork by one of America's
finest writers,” says director Roger Danforth. “Tennessee Williams's plays
continue to speak to us with even more beauty and urgency as time goes on.
I am confident that Hubbard Hall audiences will be moved and delighted as
our wonderful company of actors bring this classic to vibrant life.”
