 *Classic Thriller “WAIT UNTIL DARK” OPENS *

*JANUARY 27 AT SCHENECTADY CIVIC PLAYERS*


Frederick Knott’s  *Wait Until Dark, *adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher, and directed
by Matt Teichner, opens Friday, January 27, and runs through Sunday,
February 5, at Schenectady Civic Players, 12 South Church Street in
Schenectady’s historic Stockade district.


In 1944 Greenwich Village, Susan Hendrix, a blind yet capable woman, is
imperiled by a trio of men in her own apartment.  As the climax builds, she
discovers that her blindness just might be the key to her escape, but she
and her tormentors must wait until dark to play out this classic thriller’s
chilling conclusion.  *The Los Angeles Times* called it “satisfyingly tense
and clever, with gratifying thematic undercurrents . . . earns its
goosepimply , gripping finish.”



The Civic Players cast features Colleen Lovett (as Susan Hendrix),  Nick
Casey (as Sam),  Matt Harvey (as Roat),  David Rook (as Carlino),  David
DeSorbo (as Mike),  and Susan Durocher ( as Gloria).



*Wait Until Dark *runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday (January 27, 28, 29) and
Wednesday through Sunday (February 1 through 5).  Wednesday and Thursday
curtains are at 7:30 pm; Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm; and Sundays are
matinees only at 2:30 pm.
