Four new short plays: “Daddy’s Girl” by Nadeen Currie, “Shuttlecock” by
Dana Page, "Live Free or Die" by Elaine Fernandez and “The Note” by
Marianna Boncek.

The plays are part of a larger multi-media art show depicting life for the
average middle class family from the 1950s to now. Digital images of the
four seasons will be projected on the walls of the Community House at the
Morton Memorial Library in Rhinecliff, where the four weekend presentation
takes place. The four seasons, beginning with spring and ending in winter,
reflect the changing times evoked in each play.

Tickets are $12 per show or $40 for 4 shows.

*THE PLAYS:*

*"Daddy's Girl" by Nadeen Currie / March 31 & April 1*

It’s spring 1950, and Dorothy and Jack Divine promise their newborn
daughter "The American Dream." Fast forward to 1968, and the Divines are
faced with the horrifying truth that their daughter is all grown up and the
nation is rapidly changing.

*"Shuttlecock" by Dana Page / April 7 & 8*

Summer ushers in the 1970s and 80s, a time when disco balls, roller rinks
and divorce dominate the lives of Starr and her best friend in this
hilariously nostalgic reminder of the high times. By the 1980s, Starr is
ready for college and can’t get away from her constantly bickering,
embarrassing parents fast enough. **Adult situational comedy for mature
audiences only.*

*"Live Free or Die" by Elaine Fernandez / April 21 & 22*

Fall brings the changing times of the 1990s, with the dawn of the World
Wide Web, the Continuous News Network, the Presidency of William Jefferson
Clinton and the beginning of NAFTA. It’s a time of hope and optimism for
Starr’s boyfriend Adam Conley, a recent Stanford graduate with good family
values and big plans for his future. But it’s all about to change…

*"The Note" by Marianna Boncek / April 28 & 29*

Winter blows in an era of economic change and uncertainty in the new
millennium. A young woman accidentally finds a suicide note written by
someone she doesn't know who is about to lose everything. Unsure of what
to do, she decides to return the note to the author.

With warmest regards,
Elaine Fernandez
