Love, Loss and What I Wore by Nora and Delia Ephron, based on the best-seller by Ilene Beckerman, is the funny and poignant production being presented by Town Players of Pittsfield to end its 96th season. The show runs weekends from June 16th through the 25th at the Whitney Center for the Arts, at 42 Wendell Avenue in Pittsfield.
Melanie Rivers is directing this all female cast, which includes Diedre Bollinger, Jackie DeGiorgis, Lara Denmark, Laura Gardner and Nancy Schaffer. All the stories revolve around clothes, accessories and the memories attached to them. Although it targets women, the men who see this show will catch glimpses of their mothers, sisters, wives and friends as the stories unfold. There are scenarios about mothers disapproving, men leaving, women fighting cancer, department store embarrassments and more. It will tug at your heart strings and then tickle your funny bone. The New York Times called Love, Loss and What I Wore "Funny, compelling" and said "It brought down the house."
Friday and Saturday performances are at 8pm and Sunday matinees are at 2pm. Tickets are $15, $12 for seniors, students and groups of ten or more and $10 for members of Town Players. To reserve tickets call the Town Players Box Office at 413-443-9279 or visit www.townplayers.org. This play contains adult language.
