HMT's Youth Conservatory Presents THE LION KING JR.

 

The Youth Musical Theater Conservatory Program at Home Made Theater will
present The Lion King Jr, music and lyrics by Elton John and Tim Rice,
additional music and lyrics by Lebo M, Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, and Hans
Zimmer, book by Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi, based on the Broadway
production directed by Julie Taymor. Performances will be held at the Spa
Little Theater on Friday, May 19th at 7:30 P.M. and Saturday, May 20th at
1:00 P.M. This production is presented by a cast of students between the
ages of 8 and 16. The African Savannah comes to life in this Tony
Award-winning musical with Simba, Rafiki and an unforgettable cast of
characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle...and back again,
in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale.

The Lion King Jr is directed by Laurie Larson, who has directed the Youth
Musical Theater Conservatory productions of Into the Woods Jr, Legally
Blonde Jr, Fame Jr, The Little Mermaid Jr, Guys and Dolls Jr, Annie Jr,
Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr, Beauty and the Beast Jr, Fiddler on the Roof
Jr, Seussical Jr, Aladdin Jr, and HMT's main stage productions of A Charlie
Brown Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street, 9 to 5: The Musical, The Lion, the
Witch and the Wardrobe, and Charlotte's Web.

Production staff for the show includes director, music director and costumer
designer Laurie Larson, choreographer Olivia Larson, scenic and lighting
designer Kevin Miller, sound designer Tom Moeller, properties designer Wende
Smith, and production stage manager Susan Turner.

Tickets for Into the Woods Jr are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 12
and under. Seating is general admission. Tickets may be purchased online at
