ACOUSTIC MUSICIANS JOHN KIRK AND TRISHMILLER PRESENT ‘FIDDLE TUNES, FUNNY SONGS & FANCY FOOTWORK” IN FREE CONCERTSPONSORED BY GREENWICH FREE LIBRARY, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21, 7 P.M.
GREENWICH, NY (October 2,2017) – Celebrated acoustic musicians John Kirkand Trish Miller of Quickstep will explore traditional folk music—itsoriginals, instruments and local variations—in “Fiddle Tunes, Funny Songs &Fancy Footwork,” a free concert that is part of the GreenwichFree Library’s live music series, “Music is Living History.” The event isslated for Saturday, October 21, 7 p.m., at the Greenwich High SchoolAuditorium, 10 Gray Avenue, Greenwich.
 
Kirk andMiller (www.johnadntrish.com) have toured for more than three decades playing fiddlemusic, folk songs and performing fancy footwork for concerts, parties anddances. The pair will be joined by Amanda Muir, Rebecca Sohn and Reese Fulmer,students at Skidmore College, where Kirk and Miller both teach. The ensemblewill present harmonizing fiddles, driving banjo tunes and humorous folk songsthat invite audience sing-alongs. Many of these tunes are rooted in the local loreof the northeast woodlands. These humorous, original and poeticpieces make this show an entertainment suitable for all ages. 
 
Free will donations will be welcomed at the event to support theLibrary and its special programming.
 
This project (“Music is Living History”) is made possible withfunds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New YorkState Council on the Arts with the support of Andrew Cuomo and the New YorkState Legislature and administered by the Lower Adirondack Regional ArtsCouncil.
