*The audiences are laughing -  Greater Tuna** at the Ghent Playhouse*





* Greater Tuna*, written by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard
continues at the Ghent Playhouse this weekend and runs through October 22,
2017.  This production is directed by Brian Wagner who appeared in last
year’s season opener, *The 39 Steps*.

J. Peter Bergman, Berkshire Bright Focus writes, "Brian Wagner has directed
an incisive production of this first play in the series where moments pop
out that make you go "Whoa!" with recognition as yesterday's headlines seem
to be emanating from Tuna, Texas."

In this hilarious sendup of small town morals and mores, two actors portray
over 20 characters – men, women, children and animals - all wacky citizens
of Tuna,  Texas’ third smallest town.  This daunting task has been taken on
by two Ghent Playhouse veterans who both hail from Hudson.  You know Don
Dolan from his dramatic appearance in *The Weir* and his comical appearance
as King Sextimus in *Once Upon a Mattress*.  Kevin Kilb, who opened last
season in *The 39 Steps* and closed it with his portrayal of Austin in *True
West,* returns to open the current season.

Costumes are delightfully designed by Joanne Maurer and set design is by
the Playhouse’s own Sam Reilly.  Assistant Director is Emily Spateholts,
Lighting Designer Isabel Filkins and sound by Monk Schane-Lydon.

Friday and Saturday performances are at 8 pm and Sunday matinees are at 2
pm.  Tickets are $22 each, $17 for Members of the Playhouse and $10 for
Students with ID.  Tickets may be reserved by calling 1-800-838-3006 or
going to the website at www.ghentplayhouse.org.
