*Molly Sweeney opens April 13*
D&M Productions will present *Molly Sweeney* by Brian Friel at The Arts
Center of the Capital Region, opening April 13.
*Molly Sweeney* is composed of interweaving monologues by its three
characters: Molly, blind since infancy, enjoys a full and happy life,
despite her disability; her husband, Frank, an inveterate pursuer of
unusual causes, convinces Molly to have surgery to restore her vision; Mr.
Rice, a once-world renown eye surgeon now practicing medicine in relative
obscurity, sees the surgery as an opportunity to restore his former
reputation. The play examines Molly’s exciting and terrifying journey into
an uncharted reality after a lifetime of reliance on her other senses.
Laura Graver plays the title role and Evan Jones plays Frank. Ed McMullen,
the founder of D&M, is directing this show and playing the role of Mr. Rice.
Show dates are April 13 and 20 at 8 pm; April 14 and 21 at 2 pm and 8 pm.
The Arts Center of the Capital Region is located at 265 River Street, Troy,
