*The Ghent Playhouse presents Cabaret*





Willkommen! Join us at the Ghent Playhouse where the stage is transformed
into The Kit Kat Club as we present *Cabaret*, Tony Award-winner for Best
Play in 1967 and again in 1998 for its revival.  Directed by Matthew
Teichner, this production runs March 16, 2018 through April 1, 2018. Book
by Christopher Isherwood; Music by John Kander; Lyrics by Fred Ebb



Set amid the backdrop of 1930?s Germany as it begins to slide toward the
Nazis,

an American writer living in Berlin, meets an eccentric dancer at a
decadent cabaret called The Kit Kat Club, who changes his life forever.



*Cabaret *at The Ghent is Choreographed by Mae Rogers, Music Director is
Curtis Funk.  Joanne Maurer is designing costumes, Artistic Director Cathy
Lee-Visscher is designing the set and Izzy Filkins is providing Lighting
Design.  Co-produced by Kelly Mackerer and Linda Murawski.



Friday and Saturday performances are at 8 pm and Sunday matinees are at 2
pm.  Tickets are $22 each, $17 for Members of the Playhouse and $10 for

Duckling,* at the Schenectady Civic Playhouse, 12 So. Church Street,

             Opera Saratoga?s production of *The Ugly Duckling*, a
whimsical retelling of Hans Christian Andersen?s beloved fairy tale with an
original score by composer Andrew Duncan, allows children to experience the
thrill of opera - up close and personal - through a story that encourages
young people to accept differences in other people.


             The Ugly Duckling doesn?t fit in with the other ducklings
because she looks and sounds different than they do. But when the Ugly
Duckling saves the other ducklings from the Big Bad Wolf after learning
about his tricks, the others learn to love the Ugly Duckling for her
intelligence and bravery, and begin to truly appreciate her for who she is.

             The short, fifty-minute opera for young audiences of all ages
is free of charge, open to the public, and no reservations required.  This
performance has been underwritten by Schenectady Civic Players? Gwen E.
Fraser Fund to give back to the community and excite young people on the
