Theater Voices will present a staged reading of "The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence" by Madeleine George, directed by Tony Pallone on Friday, March 23 at 8pm; Saturday, March 24 at 3 pm & 8pm; and Sunday, March 25 at 3pm, at Steamer No. 10 Theatre, 500 Western Avenue, Albany. House opens one half-hour before performance. Admission is free.

This highly original play, nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2014, is a darkly comic meditation on companionship and artificial intelligence. Watson is a trusty sidekick to Sherlock Holmes... a loyal engineer who built Bell’s first telephone... an unstoppable super-computer that became reigning Jeopardy! champ... and an amiable techno-dweeb just looking for love. The play jumps through time periods as it follows these multiple Watson incarnations, embodied by a single actor (Bill Geltzeiler), who is surrounded by Merrick (Fred Sirois), his nemesis, and Eliza (Ali Doggette), the object of his desire.

Theater Voices of Albany is a group of dedicated actors and directors who, throughout the company’s history, have presented both new and classic works with the specific goal of emphasizing the richness of the playwrights’ language. Each production is a fully performed staged reading, with minimal scenery and simple costumes. Theater Voices is a not-for-profit organization under IRS 501(c)(3).
