Edward Island. Don't miss this heartwarming original musical written by

Troy, NY, July 22, 2019 – The Young Actors Guild is pleased to announce
their 30th
anniversary of providing quality theatrical education to children and teens
in the community.
Established in 1989 by Mary D’Amico as the Rensselaer Youth Theater
Workshop on the RPI
campus, Young Actors Guild is one of the longest running children’s
educational theater
programs in the Capital Region. The mission of the Young Actors Guild is to
encourage a child’s
self-discovery, enhance their self-expression, stimulate their imagination
and develop strong
character.
Over their thirty-year tenure, Young Actors Guild has touched the lives of
over a thousand
students, providing an environment for young artists to thrive in. Through
classes in music,
dance, acting, and stagecraft, as well as practical application of those
skills in semesterly
shows, students are given valuable skills that will aid them for the rest
of their lives, regardless
of what future profession they choose. Young Actors Guild will be holding
fundraising events
throughout the summer to aid in their transition back into the nonprofit
sector and support their
scholarship fund, which supports students of all socioeconomic backgrounds.
As they kick off their 30th year, their summer productions will include
their own original musical
adaptation of Anne of Green Gables. Come celebrate all the past and future
accomplishments
of the Young Actors Guild this summer! Anne of Green Gables will be
performed August 9th and
10th at 7:30 PM at the RPI Playhouse.
