*The Classic Theater Guild finishes its run of Beth Henley’s comedy “Crimes
of the Heart” February 27 and 29, and March 1 at the Congregation Beth
Israel, 2195 Eastern Parkway, Schenectady. *
*The scene is Hazelhurst, Mississippi, where the three Magrath sisters have
gathered to await news of the family patriarch, their grandfather, who is
living out his last hours in the local hospital. Lenny, the oldest sister,
is unmarried at 30 and facing diminishing marital prospects. Meg, 27, the
middle sister, who quickly outgrew Hazelhurst, is back after a failed
singing career on the West Coast. Babe, 24, the youngest, is out on bail
after having shot her husband in the stomach. *
*The cast includes** Joey Cook, Hannah Jay, Marquis Heath, Joelle
Malinowski, Audrey Vermilyea, and Christine Vermilyea. John Birchler
directs.*
*Evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday's matinee begins at 3:00
p.m. Tickets cost $20/$18 for students, seniors, and military members.*
