”THEY MADE IT HERE”

New Musical Premieres in the Capital Region

In February, a new musical premieres in the Capital Region that confronts the subject of parental loss to children in a tender yet powerful drama. The musical “They Made It Here” by Alyssa Talanker is the story of a brilliant young musician, Frank, born in the United States who is left alone after losing both parents to deportation. Feeling abandoned, Frank withdraws from his friends and musical life.  Two famous guardian angels, Irving Berlin and Joseph Pulitzer, who struggled as immigrants before becoming successful pay him a visit. They take Frank on a journey to re-ignite his life and dreams.

The famous American immigrants, Berlin, Pulitzer and Andrew Carnegie, who gifted our country with “White Christmas,” the Pulitzer Prize and Carnegie Hall come alive through a cast of nine talented actors. With an original score, dance and live music that blends ethnic, rap and Broadway sounds, the musical delivers a timeless message about changing loss into hope by believing in yourself.
