SILENT AUCTION TO BENEFIT FILM ABOUT HISTORIC “ME TOO” STORY

Boho Chic Boutique is honored to Host a Meet & Greet to benefit the short film “LAURINA”, Sept 13 from 4-9 pm.  It will include a Silent Auction and Live Music to raise awareness and money for this incredibly important story of strength, courage and the power of breaking your silence. 

Boho Chic Boutique is located at 90 Front Street, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.

Meet & Greet with members of the film team. Full event runs 4-9 pm. Silent Auction 5 - 8 pm featuring donations from featured artisans and themed baskets from local businesses. Complimentary refreshments will be served.

All funds will go directly to support this important film.

Guests are encouraged to wear a mask and take proper precautions relative to Covid-19.

A LOCAL HERO

80 years before the #metoo movement, a 13 year-old Italian Immigrant girl spoke up.  In spite of being left traumatized and pregnant by her abuser she used her experience and strength to help generations of silent victims. 

Laurina is based on the real life journals of long time Ballston Spa resident Laurina (Laura) Ecobelli. She was a beloved figure in town and the owner of Ecobelli’s Tam O’Shanter Inn.  

In 1923, Laurina was involved in a sensational trial after she was raped and impregnated by her stepfather at age 13. Her courageous testimony helped to convict her abuser.  A landmark judgment that was unheard of then and even a rare now. 

Two time Emmy award winner Sylvia Caminer will direct having just completed the feature length psychological thriller “Follow Her." The film will be produced by Laurina Film Partners and DolGer Films with executive producers Chris Gaunt and Michalina Scorzelli at the helm. Screenplay by Ballston Spa natives and grandchildren of Laurina, Lora Lee and Tom Ecobelli. 

Adriana Camposano will portray the young Laurina. The popular young star was a regular on the hit Netflix Television show Orange Is The New Black.
