Save the Date!     Save the Date - we open one month from today! It’s Junie B.’s first day of first grade, and a lot of things have changed for her: Junie’s friend, Lucille, doesn’t want to be her best pal anymore and, on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher, Mr. Scary, thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal,” and first grade has never been more exciting! The Theatre Institute at Russell Sage presents Junie B. Jones, the Musical as the fifth and final production of the TIS 2022-2023 season. The production is directed by Russell Sage's Edith McCrae Professor of Fine Arts and Professor of Music, Michael Musial. Most recently, Musial directed a workshop performance of new work Ladies, How Dare You! as well as co-wrote and directed new work Benjamin Franklinstein the Musical! back in December. The cast includes Russell Sage senior Regina Desrosiers in the title role as well as RSC students Morgan Dempsey, Cameron Richardson, Danielle Stallone, Avanti Roberts, Steffanie Mammoser, Phil Bruns and Rowan Brown. Accompanying student performers are professional designers Lynne Roblin, costume designer; Paul Sweet, scenic designer; Vincent Pruchnick, sound designer; and Alena Samoray, lighting designer.
