*This 1955 comedy-drama planned for Broadway but canceled when the
playwright wouldn’t tone down its message. The play focuses on racism and
sexism in American theatre. A scathing indictment of racism in American
commercial theatre, Trouble in Mind tells the story of Wiletta Mayer, an
African-American actress cast in a supposedly “progressive” play about
racism by a white male author—it turnsout to be anything but progressive,
both in terms of its script and rehearsal environment. *

Production Dates are Saturday, June 10th at 8:00 pm; and Sunday, June 11th
at 3:00 pm
