COPAKE, NY --The Two Of Us Productions, the award winning theater company based in Columbia County NY, is pleased to present Stranger In The Attic by John Kaasik. Performances are May 12th, 13th, 14th, & the following weekend of May 19th, 20th, 21st, 2023. Presented in the intimate Marylin and Bob Laurie Foundation Gallery at the Claverack Free Library in Claverack, you don’t want to miss this absorbing suspense thriller. 

Stranger In The Attic is set in the country home of freelance writer Brian Hollander and his wife Dana, their quiet life is unexpectedly upset by the arrival of a stranger named Kendrick, who is offering an exclusive story to Brian about a murder that has not happened yet! Brian pursues discussions of the story with Kendrick, and also meets his new neighbors Douglas and Margaret Brendan who tell Brian and Dana a disturbing story about a stranger who may be stalking them. Detective Nelson comes into the play to try and unravel these interlocking stories and prevent the murder from happening. Author John Kaasik is a prolific & award winning writer of mystery dramas, including Assassin’s New Friend, Murder by Mistake, and Piano Lessons for Dad, which was awarded an Honorable Mention by the New Works of Merit play competition. He also writes comedies such as The Servant’s Last Serve where a wealthy Londoner wills his estate to his cat. Mr. Kaasik will be coming to the show for a talkback with the author during the first weekend of performances. 

Stranger In The Attic features Mark Leinung and Karissa Payson as Brian & Dana Hollander; Matt Leinung and Cyndi Miller as Douglas & Margaret Brendan; Eamon Martin as Kendrick; and Linda Storms as Detective Nelson. The Marilyn & Bob Laurie Gallery at the newly renovated Claverack Free Library provides an intimate performance space that brings the audience into this gripping & suspense filled drama. 

Performances of Stranger In The Attic are 2 weekends only – May 12th, 13th, 14th, & the following weekend of May 19th, 20th, 21st, 2023. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees are at 3pm. The Two Of Us Productions is well known throughout the Hudson Valley for presenting quality theater, both musicals and dramas. Their recent productions of The Lady And The Clarinet, A Shayna Maidel, Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, Chicago, Les Miserables, next to normal, Deathtrap, Lend Me A Tenor and Jesus Christ Superstar have all been recognized by the Theatre Association of NYS with multiple awards, including outstanding work by the company, outstanding performance by the orchestra, excellence in direction, and many cast ensemble & individual actor awards. 

These performances are supported with funds from Hudson River Bank & Trust Foundation, Stewart’s Shops, Bank of Greene County Charitable Foundation, Rheinstrom Hill Community Foundation, Greylock Federal Credit Union, and Key Bank Foundation.
