*Romeo and Juliet*
By: William Shakespeare

Directed by Jacqueline Donnaruma

Shakespeare’s references to the Plague and his depiction of cities awash in
violence echo our own experience of the past few years.

*Romeo and Juliet* Shakespeare’s most popular romantic tragedy of
star-crossed lovers. It’s a timeless story of young passions caught
between the feuding families of Capulet and Montague – a conflict grown so
deadly it throws the city of Verona into turmoil. The danger on the streets
is palpable - armed enemies from both sides lurk around corners, while the
Prince threatens death to anyone who is caught up in the clash. When Romeo
and his Juliet rise above the old grudges, their love may heal the deep
divisions in Verona, or bring the whole city crashing down.

Jacqueline Donnaruma directs *Romeo and Juliet,* and Eleah Jayne Peal has
choreographed the series of duels that leave Verona awash in blood. The
show features Anne Ustin as Juliet and Reid Schiermyer as Romeo.
