It’s coming to take over the Earth! When hapless Skid Row floral assistant
Seymour Krelborn discovers a strange, exotic plant and nurses it back to
health, he little suspects what dark forces he’s unwittingly unleashed.
This summer’s annual all-student musical production at Catskill’s Bridge
Street Theatre is Alan Menken and Howard Ashman’s delightfully twisted,
darkly comic horror/rock musical “Little Shop of Horrors”. Loosely based on
Roger Corman’s 1960 cult film classic, this “mean green mother from outer
space” puts down roots at BST’s 84-seat “Priscilla” Mainstage, located at
44 West Bridge Street, for a two-weekend run from July 11-21, 2024.

The tiny, bizarre-looking little seedling Seymour stumbles upon and names
after his co-worker (and secret crush) at Mushnik’s Flower Shop brings
sudden fame and fortune to the previously failing florist. But at first,
despite Seymour’s best efforts, the plant fails to thrive. Then, he
accidentally pricks his finger on a rose thorn and makes a shocking
discovery – Audrey II requires human blood in order to live! As the plant
keeps getting bigger and bigger, and the profits to be derived from its
display grow larger and larger, Seymour is forced into increasingly
desperate and morally dubious actions to keep Audrey II supplied with the
ghoulish nourishment it craves.

Featured in the all-student cast are Sarah Dobos (Chiffon), Jack Van Gorden
(Orin), Michael Keck (Mr. Mushnik), Louise Kieraldo (Crystal), Jacob Leigh
(Seymour), Madison Mudge (Audrey), Victoria Reese (Ronette), and Paul
Truncale (Audrey II). Michelle Storrs-Ryan directs, with choreography by
Marcus McGregor, set and lighting design by Carmen Borgia, and costumes by
Cassie Berry-Smith. Production Stage Manager is Hannarose Manning. The
production was made possible in part by a grant from the Bank of Greene
County.

“Little Shop of Horrors” will be performed eight times only, July 11-21,
with performances Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at
2:00pm. Discounted tickets can be purchased online for $23 at
bridgest.org/little-shop-of-horrors-tickets/. Available seats can also be
purchased at the door prior to each performance for $25. For patrons ages
18 and under, all tickets are $15. Doors open approximately one-hour before
curtain time, with live musical entertainment provided and concessions
available in the theatre’s lobby.

“Little Shop of Horrors” is guaranteed to thrill you, chill you, and make
you SCREAM (at least with laughter)! Want more details? Just visit the
theatre’s website at bridgest.org/little-shop-of-horrors/.
