2024-25 season this November in Pine Hills, Albany!

*Limited parking is available in the Citizen’s Bank lot on Western Ave
during non-business hours and on the street. Audiences parking on the
street are reminded not to park in spots designated for Albany Police next
to the theater.*

First conceived locally at the Barrington Stage Company in 2004, this Tony
Award-winning musical follows the trials and tribulations of six pre-teen
spellers at their regional spelling bee. Highly improvisational, audience
participation occurs at every performance as four audience members are
selected to join the spellers on stage to compete in the bee.

*ABOUT OUR CAST*


A cohort of local theater veterans and new faces fill out the cast for this
ensemble musical comedy. The production features Livia Walker as Olive
Ostrovsky, A.J. Testa as William Barfee, Caleigh Hogan as Logainne
Schwartzandgrubenierre, Bill Geltzeiler as Leaf Coneybear, Wren DiCocco as
Marcy Park, and Will Whisenhunt as Chip Tolentino, portraying our child
spellers. The adults are played by Amy Sarah LaMena as Rona Lisa Peretti,
Terry Peterson as Douglas Panch, and James Alexander as Mitch Mahoney.
Marissa Reimer serves as swing for the production as well as dance captain.


*ABOUT OUR PRODUCTION TEAM*


At the helm is Ben Amey, directing this production as his directorial
debut. Musical direction is under theater veteran Emily Rose Rivera and
choreography created by Eleah Jayne Peal. The production is produced by
Julie Phillips and Steven Baldwin, assistant directed by Amanda Trombly and
is stage managed by Leah Gallinger & Leo Cordi.  Rounding out this creative
team are Oona Newman as Lighting Designer, Vinny Pruchnick as Sound
Designer, Viviane Galloway as Costume Designer, Jennie Canale as Hair and
Makeup Designer, Melissa Peterson and Terry Peterson as Properties
Designers, and Jennie Sinnott as Scenic Consultant.
