Roustabout Players is looking for an actress, early-20s to early-30s, and an
actor, early-30s and up.
Roustabout Players, the Troy dinner theater that performs out of the First
United Presbyterian Church hall on 5th Ave. is currently in rehearsals for
the brand new farce "Eat and Run" by Karl Tiedemann. It's a very funny show
set in a 1947
London hotel. There is an important meeting coming up with a visiting U.S.
general and his British counterpart on dealing with food shortages in
post-WW2 Europe. The U.S. general brings his wife and college age daughter
with him on the trip to London. There is also the British general, a bell
hop, a detective, and a chorus girl that the general met at a party. There
is black marketeering of food going on, lots of mistaken identies, a grizzly
bear costume, and a dog that is thought to have been eaten. Really, I can't
do it justice here, but it's very, very funny. Lots of sight gags and funny
lines.
Roustabouts is looking to fill the role of Anne, the U.S. general's
daughter. She's American, so there's no accent needed. She's the voice of
reason in the play trying to pull the other characters and their
eccentricities together.
Roustabouts is also looking to fill the role of the Detective Newton. He
speaks
with a slight British accent, and is very much a straight man to the
hillarity going on around him. He should look 30 years old or higher.
The show is up for FIVE weekends, every Friday/Saturday evening in February
and the first Friday/Saturday in March. Rehearsals are most Sunday thru
Thursday evenings at 7PM, stopping the week before Christmas and starting
right after New Year's.
So, if there is anyone that might be interested in this or if anyone has
futher questions, please call the director, Bob Couture at 432-9364.
Thanks! :)
