Albany ? Confetti Stage, Inc. announces AUDITIONS for the play, Deathtrap, by Ira Levine.  A Broadway playwright, Sidney Bruhl, puts murder in his plan to take credit for a student?s script.  To make Sidney?s slumping career all the more painful, Clifford Anderson, a student of one of Sidney?s writing seminars, has recently sent his mentor a copy of his FIRST attempt at being a playwright for Sidney?s review and advice.  Anderson?s play, ?Deathtrap,? is a five character, two-act thriller so perfect in its construction that, as Sidney says, ?A gifted director couldn?t even hurt it.?  Using his penchant for plot, and out of his desperate desire to once again be the toast of Broadway, Sidney, along with Myra, cook up an almost unthinkable scheme:  They?ll lure the would-be playwright to the Bruhl home, kill him, and market the sure-fire script as Sidney?s own.  But shortly after Clifford arrives, it?s clear that things are not what they seem!  Indeed, even Helga Ten Dorp, a nosey psychic from next door, and Porter Milgram, Sidney?s observant attorney, can only speculate where the line between truth and deception lies.
 
AUDITIONS will be WED. and FRI., AUGUST 24 AND 26 at 7pm at the CONFETTI STAGE STUDIO in the HILTON CENTER for the Performing Arts, 40 Russell Road, Albany, next to Westgate Shopping Plaza.

Sidney Bruhl ? looks 50s male -Broadway playwright
Myra Bruhl ? looks 40s female -Sidney?s wife
Clifford Anderson ? looks mid 20s to early 30s male ?aspiring young playwright
Helga Ten Dorp ? looks mid 40s to 50s female ?CSI psychic neighbor
Porter Milgram ? looks 50s male ?Sidney?s attorney and friend
 
AUDITIONS will consist of a prepared contemporary monologue and cold readings from the script.
PERFORMANCES will be Thurs ? Sun, Oct 27 ? 30, 2005 @ The Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy, NY.
