Bad Dog Productions and The Queen's Theatre are holding auditions for a
one-act play series entitled URBAN LEGENDS which will be performed at Red Square
in Albany. URBAN LEGENDS marks the return of The Queen's Theatre, a multiple
award winning company that performed at the QEII in Albany during the late
eighties and early nineties. Roles are available in OPEN ADMISSIONS by
Shirley Lauro, TRIP'S CINCH by Phyllis Nagy, and FINAL PLACEMENT by Ara Watson.

OPEN ADMISSIONS
Calvin: African-American Male, 18-25: tough, street smart, student in a
New York College's open admissions program. He is desperate to learn, but has
been let down by the educational system.
Professor: Female, 20's to 40's: a speech communications professor at a
New York City College.
TRIP'S CINCH
Trip: Male, 30's to 40's; attractive, charming, successful, businessman; has
been acquitted of rape accusations in a recent trial. Director's preference
is to cast this role with an African-American actor.
Val: Female, 30's to 40's; professor of English literature and writer of
biographies and sociological essays; role can be cast with African-American or
white actress.
Lucy: Female, 30's; a school crossing guard; intelligent; has accused Trip
of raping her after meeting him during her vacation. Director's preference is
to cast this role with a white actress.
FINAL PLACEMENT
Mary Hanson: Female, mid-20's to early 40's; a social worker specializing in
foster care placement. Detailed and professional, a woman of compassion.
Luellen James: Female, early to mid-20's; psychologically immature. Has lost
custody of her infant son due to a pattern of physical abuse. A simple, soft
spoken young woman capable of great acts of violence.
