Confetti Stage Audition Announcement
 
Confetti Stage announces auditions for it upcoming Regional Premiere of Eric Coble’s adaptation of Lois Lowry’s Newberry Award Winning Book, The Giver.
 
Auditions will take place Monday, January 22 at 7pm and Tuesday, January 23 at 7pm at The Women’s Building, 79 Central Avenue, Albany, NY.
 
Those auditioning will be asked to read a variety of scenes. Headshots and resumes are NOT required, but feel free to bring them if you have them.
 
There are 3 girls ages 8 – 13, 2 boys ages 10 – 13, 1 woman (mid 30s – mid 40s), 3 men (30’s – 70’s), & a small ensemble of men, women, boys, and girls ages 10 and up.
 
Roles available include:
 
Father –                      Jonas’ Good-Natured Father.
Mother –                    Jonas’ Good-Natured Mother.
Lily -                           Jonas’ younger Sister.
Jonas -                        An 11 year old about to grow older.
Asher -                        Jonas’ best friend.
Fiona -             Another friend of Jonas.
The Chief Elder - The Master of The Ceremony.
The Giver -                 An old man about to change.
Rosemary -                 A girl from a time before.
Ensemble –                 various members of the Community
 
 
 
Read through will be Monday, January 29, 2007 at 6pm at The Women’s Building.
 
Rehearsals will begin Sunday, February 4, 2007 at The Women’s Building.
 
Performances will be held March 15, 16, 17, & 18 at The Arts Center of The Capital Region in Troy, NY.  Stipend payment possible for cast, crew, staff, and designers.
